Fête des enfants de Drummondville

Free activities offered by DRAC

20 November 2022

About

As part of the National Child Day, DRAC offered a cultural mediation workshop at the Centre sportif Girardin around its exhibition I hear your warm whisper through the cold mist. The workshop took place on Sunday, November 20, 2022, between 9 a.m. and noon, as well as between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m., at the Centre Sportif Girardin.

The young participants were able to create a mobile inspired by the works of artists Christine Sioui Wawanoloath and Glenn Gear, made of coloured cardboard animals held on a wooden stick by a string of orange wool - the color of Indigenous Truth and Reconciliation.

In addition to the creative workshop, children received an educational activity sheet about the exhibition to complete on site or at home, to further reflect on the artists' practices.

A special activity at DRAC

A DRAC mediator will read a story by Christine Sioui Wawanoloath, story teller and artist whose work is also presented in the exhibition, at 1 p.m.

As part of this special day, DRAC will open its doors from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Short guided tours will be offered throughout the day.

The event is free and open to all.

See you on November 20th!
